...Don’t do that: Quitting the Internets :(
Let’s talk trends: leaving Tumblr. It’s the trendy thing to do when
a) someone criticizes you.
b) see a.
There has been a recent spate of people “quitting the internets” and then returning approximately five and two thirds of a minute later, when something totally happened on Real Housewives or someone flattered the leaving Tumblr into coming back.
This is a time for honesty, people. You’re “leaving” because someone caused you to be butthurt, and what you’re looking for in response is a hundred likes and reblogs crying the tune of “FFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUU—”
Well, the likelihood is that even if one or two zealots do this, they don’t even care that much. Realize that reblogging with an empty platitude takes approximately two seconds on their part before they can return to congratulating themselves instead of you. Unless everyone on your following list sets off a simultaneous caterwaul and dons mourning attire, either leave the Internet, or don’t pretend you’re going in the first place.
It assumes that you are more special than everyone else, but actually reveals you’re immature and can’t handle life, and both ways make you a poisonous influence on Tumblr.
